Steel-by-the-Sea

Musical Director and Arranger

In 2011, The Newbiggin by-the-Sea Partnership commissioned a steel pan project to engage members of the community and asked pan tutor Jenny Gilberg to deliver a steel pan summer school for members of the community. This was hugely successful and well attended and in turn led to weekly pan classes and an annual steel pan summer school. The band now runs two weekly classes including a popular community class.
